August Bee Blocks

I got my August Bee Blocks knocked out really early this month. My boyfriend was out of town all week so that freed up some time to get them done early. Here they are.

My favorite one was the BeeJeebers block. The polaroid blocks are so cute! I love all the ones that the group has come up with. The only thing is that I don't have many novelty prints so it was hard for me to find enough pictures. I barely squeaked in and I love love love these blocks!!

My Harmony. do. Good. stitches. blocks were very quick to make! 15 minutes per block, I'll take that any day.

My Stash Bee block was also pretty quick. The "stacked" look was great to use those long scrap strips. The only thing is that I'm starting to run out of greens and blues because for the last two or three months, multiple bees were using the grey/blue/green color scheme. I love the color scheme but I'm ready for something different now.

And lastly, for my We Bee Modern Too Bee we did a very cute block with 3 wonky stars in it. This one was Christmas themed so it provided for a break in my blue/green mantra. I think this would look super cute in a rainbow color scheme...

Cosmic Burst Pattern Testing

I was lucky enough to get to test Cosmic Burst, a new pattern from Distant Pickles! One of my coworkers is expecting a baby girl in November so this was the perfect chance to get that out of the way and also to test this awesome pattern!

The quilt top came together very smoothly. It's a forgiving pattern and is a great pattern to use for scraps, as most of the colored pieces are relatively small. I'm very happy with how it turned out. So here it is!

Cosmic Burst Top

I had 2 "oops" moments. And got to renew my friendship with my seam ripper. I quickly remembered why I didn't like being friends with her. The first oops was that I turned the bottom middle block the wrong way.

The second oops was that I turned two of the corner blocks the wrong way.

I've made bigger mistakes and they were easy to fix so it wasn't too bad. Bree should have the pattern out by the end of the month I think so keep in touch if you're interested in it!

August Fresh Sewing Day

Lily's Quilts

I haven't participated much in Fresh Sewing Day in the last couple of months, stuff has just been so busy around here! I've only been able to really meet my Bee and Swap commitments and not do much more than that. :(

Here is a mosaic of the projects that I completed in July. I hope you enjoy!! Thanks for stopping by! I should be more on the bandwagon this month and I have some upcoming pattern testing that I will get to show once I get permission so stay tuned!!!
